About Us

Wisconsin NatureMapping is a biodiversity survey program that allows citizens, students, and professionals to map their observations of Wisconsin wildlife onto an online map of Wisconsin. Those observations become part of a statewide database and are used by state biologists, researchers and educators for wildlife management, scientific studies, and environmental education.

Wisconsin NatureMapping began in November 2003 and is a joint project between the Beaver Creek Reserve Citizen Science Center, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the GIS firm Applied Data Consultants.1
